In 1965, Weds Co., Ltd in Japan was established as a supplier to some of the major vehicle manufacturers. Their parent company, one of the largest Original Equipment Japanese wheel manufacturers, added the technologies and business partnerships necessary to build upon a reputation of quality in the aftermarket wheel industry.

To ensure manufacturing precision as well as contemporary styling, Weds manages complete product development from wheel design concepts using the latest version of CAD (Computer-aided design) and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) drawings to CAM (Computer-aided manufacturing). One of Weds' first forged racing wheels, the Racing Forge, led to the development of many other popular wheels styles – among them the Weds Bavaria, a well-received BMW wheel, circa 1980.

Weds' success at the racetrack has remained strong. Currently active in JGTC racing, the track offers an excellent drawing board for technical advancements and product development. By successfully optimizing wheel weight while maintaining maximum durability Weds achieves the critical elements necessary for JGTC race wheels. This attention to detail and technical application is what carries through to the wheels they design for the street.
